Hoshiarpur: An urgent meeting of Board of Management was held on 08-10-2015 at Guru Ravidas Ayurved University Hoshiarpur. All the Board members deliberated in detail on the various points regarding affiliation of Guru Ravidas Ayurved University with UGC and raising of doubts about authenticity of University and validity of degree awarded by University. The Board members have gone through the Public Notice issued by the University in various news papers clarifying the stand of the University. Further they also examined the minutes of meeting of Principals of all the Ayurvedic Colleges affiliated with Guru Ravidas Ayurved University Hoshiarpur held on 29.09.2015. The Board is unanimously of the opinion that students have been mislead and were required proper briefing for removing doubts. The action taken by the University by publishing of the Public Notice is in the right direction of removing the doubts spread by misinformation/propaganda by some vested interest. The Board strongly condemns the rumours spread and fully endorse the action taken by the Vice Chancellor in the matter. The Board is also of the opinion that all the confusion has been created by the Registrar Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine, Punjab by making an uncalled entry on the reverse of the certificate and obtaining affidavit from the students.
As proposed by Sh. Tikshan Sood Ji Political Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Punjab, the Board unanimously resolved that the matter should be taken up with the Govt. of Punjab that under what authority the Registrar Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicines, Punjab, Chandigarh has given remarks on the reverse of the Registration Certificates of the BAMS students? The matter should be got enquired by the Punjab Govt and appropriate action as per rules should be taken against the Registrar. It was further Resolved that the students should be issued new Registration Certificates by the Registrar Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicines Punjab without any remarks on the reverse of the Registration Certificate. The Board also Resolved to reduce the re-evaluation fee from Rs. 5000/- per copy to Rs. 3000/- per copy from the academic session Nov/Dec, 2015 in the interest of the students. Sh. Tikshan Sood Political Advisor to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab proposed that statue of Bhagwan Sri Guru Ravidas Ji should also installed at the newly constructed University campus at Kharkan. The Hon’ble Members endorse the suggestions of Sh. Tikshan Sood Ji and Resolved that University should also install statue of Bhagwan Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. It was further resolved that Building Construction Advisory Committee of the University would decide the place for installation and size of the statue.
