HOSHIARPUR CONSTITUENCY ANALYSIS

Hoshiarpur (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Hoshiarpur same as the other 116 constituency seats is in the midst of chosing their MLA representative for next five years. Four candidates are in a row and trying their luck this time. Congress representative Sunder sham arora, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Bram Shankar Jimpa, BJP candidate Tikshan Sood and SAD-BSP candidate Varinder Parhar are fighting to win the election from Hoshiarpur.
Congress party candidate Sunder Sham Arora, two time consecutive winning MLA from hoshiarpur is again in the race for retaining his position for another five years. Arora, being an industrialist and topmost business man known in the area is representing congress. His priorities are to complete the development projects that he started in last years of his power, providing more employment to youth by conducting employment fears, Beautification of Hoshiarpur.
Aam Aadmi Party candidate, Bram Shankar Jimpa, five time councillor and old leader of congress but switched to AAP recently is giving competition for the MLA position. He was also appointed as the Vice-chairman of Punjab Industial Development board. he left the congress after he was declined ticket from congress despite of being frontrunner for Mayor’s position. His priorities are to renovate and improve Hoshiarpur Civil Hospital to provide services like private ones, To prepare a master plan for sanitation, cleaning of the city, improvement of govt schools.
Bhartiya Janta Party candidate, Tikshan Sood an advocate by profession, Tikshan Sood has represented the constituency thrice, has minister holding various portfolios. He had faced defeat twice in a row in 2012 and 2017. He is fighting to regain his lost position. To make all out efforts to bring more and more industry to provide employment to youth of area, to improve the law and order situation and check theft and snatching incidents, to focus fully on the improvement of health services and development of area as a whole.
BSP and SAD is fighting in alliance and Varinder Parhar is representing both the parties from Hoshiarpur. Parhar, an ex- AAP leader left the party as well as politics but re-entered the politics this year and got ticket from BSP. Parhar, an agriculturist by profession and NRI is trying to win the MLA position. His priorities are to improve health services especially the civil hospital, to ensure that all facilities are available as are in private hospitals, to prepare a special task force to check theft and snatching incidents in the city, to improve the standard of education in the area, especially in the Government schools.
