First Poetic Collection by Renowned Purgi Poet Mohammad Ali Baba Released at Ladakh Academy

Kargil (The Stellar News): In Ladakh, Madame Kaneez Fatima, Director of the Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh, released the first book of poetic collections by renowned Purgi poet Mohammad Ali Baba, titled “Sing hZboks.” The event, organized by the Balti Research and Study Centre (BR&SC), was held at the Ladakh Academy of Arts Culture and Languages in Kargil.


The book release ceremony saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including Padma Shri awardee Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, former Executive Councilor Aga Syed Hassan Arman, state awardee and Shina scholar Mohd Ahmad Jawan, and former SE and Director of the Munshi Aziz Bhat Museum Kargil Gulzar Hussain Munshi. The event was also attended by numerous religious scholars, poets, and literary enthusiasts.

Assistant Professor Nasir Ud Din Khafi, a prominent Purgi poet and scholar, presented a detailed review of the book, while renowned Purgi poet Syed Hadi Shah offered a critical analysis of Mohammad Ali Baba’s work.

In her address, Madame Kaneez Fatima applauded Mohammad Ali Baba for his significant contribution to the literary world of Purig and commended Bashir Ahmad Wafa, Chairman of the Balti Research and Study Centre, for organizing the event. She emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting and preserving local languages and cultures.

Expressing his gratitude, Mohammad Ali Baba thanked all those who supported him in his publishing journey and announced plans for his second book release in the near future. The ceremony also featured religious recitations and poetry by Akhone Ali Naqi, Ashraf Ali Sagar, and Murtaza Ali Baba.

Bashir Ahmad Wafa, interacting with the media, highlighted the success of the BR&SC in achieving its goal of reviving and promoting the local languages of Purig through this book release program.
