“ACCUSERS MUST SEEK FORGIVENESS”: AMIT SHAH AS SC GIVES CLEAN CHIT TO PM MODI IN GUJRAT RIOTS

New Delhi (The Stellar News): Home Minister Amit Shah in a recent interview  has said “very significant, less politically but more because of how the court has exposed how our topmost leader was victimised”, adding that a triad of “political parties opposing the BJP, some journalists and some NGOs–nursed by Opposition political parties–” had created an “ecosystem” to spread falsehoods, blowing up lies so much so that “everyone was under its influence, probably even the courts”.

The apex court on Friday dismissed a plea filed by Zakia Jafri, widow of former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, who was among the 68 killed at the Gulberg Society in Ahmedabad on February 28, 2002.

The protest petition by Zakia and activist Teesta Setalvad had challenged the Supreme Court appointment SIT’s clean chit to Former Gujrat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. alleging that the investigation had ignored evidence. Modi was accused by the petitioners of having instructed senior officials to allow Hindus to vent their anger on the minority in the wake of the Godhra train carnage.

In an interview to the ANI news agency on Saturday, Shah said the verdict “is a matter of pride for every BJP worker”. “The stain that was on the BJP has been washed away, and a world leader like Modi-ji has become an ideal example of how the Constitution has to be respected in a democracy. Modiji was also interrogated. No one held a dharna. People did not come from all over the country to stand in solidarity with him. We cooperated with the law. I was also arrested; there was no demonstration…Those who had made allegations against Modi-ji, if they have a conscience, must seek forgiveness from Modi-ji and the BJP,” the home minister said.
