Maharashtra and Delhi are most affected places in the country. These places are registering record high deaths every day. Both these states are known as back born of the country as large number of people work there. Due to rapid increase of corona virus a situation of crisis has developed in the country.

Hospitals are running out of oxygen, ICU beds and other medical equipments. Patients have to wait for admission in hospitals in ambulances. There are 100 people in line for a single bed. Some people are taking benefit from this situation with black marketing. They are selling some important supplies 5 times the real price. A single oxygen cylinder is selling more than Rs75000 whose real price is Rs12000. Medicines are on record high prices but people are buying as they are feeling helpless.

This situation cannot be controlled with any partial restrictions as this situation is grim. There is an extensive need of imposing a strict lockdown where no one will be allowed to move from one place to another and no social gathering will be allowed. This is important because some health experts had warn about the third wave which will be worse than second wave. The only way to tackle this situation is to impose strict lockdown and increase vaccination capability.

As vaccine is the only option to kill corona virus. As in various countries governments focused on vaccinating population. In India this is difficult but if we want to stop this pandemic then it’s must. Government should increase the production of Covid vaccine doses. Most of the vaccine centres are rolling out of vaccine doses and people have to wait for taking Covid vaccines.

Challenges if lockdown will be imposed in India-

The main challenge creates by lockdown is if all the shops, factories and construction work will be closed then how people earn money for their livelihood. In India there are various daily wage workers who earn on daily bases. These people belong to that category those don’t have too much savings. So, how can they sustain in this tough time.

In India per capita income of a person is about Rs12,8000, it means he/she earns Rs11,500 per month and Rs375 per day. Last year during the lockdown the rates of necessary eateries was increased when there was no money in hands of common man. Last year government had promised to give Rs500 to each poor person and ration for common person due to lockdown in the country. From which a large population has not got any money and rations and who got don’t need that.

And if a common person will get Rs500 for a month then how he/she will manage. When a person was managing his/her house previously with the monthly income of Rs11500 than how can they manage under Rs500. As the rates of oil, wheat, sugar are much high in country.

What government should do?

Now this is the responsibility of State Governments to come forward rather than blaming Centre government. Centre government have too much burden as they have to arrange money for the manufacture of medical equipments, oxygen cylinders and vaccine doses.

State governments should provide rations and basic facilities to the poor who cannot afford in this tough time. In this time NGO’s and regional organizations come into play. Governments should contact them and identify real needy people rather than sending money to corrupt officials.

This situation is worse, a single person cannot do anything. Everyone should come together for the welfare of society it may be centre or state governments, NGO’s or may be local people.
