DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS WORTH Rs. 1850 CR. APPROVED FOR JALANDHAR: SURESH KUMAR

JALANDHAR (The Stellar News):The Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has approved development  projects worth Rs 1850 crore of which works on projects costing Rs. 900 crore is in progress. The remaining works would also be started soon as the tenders process of works worth Rs 400 crore is in line.

This was stated by the CM’s Chief Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar during a function held here to kickstart the development works at a cost of Rs 161 crore in Cantt Assembly constituency. He also pointed out that all these projects would be accomplished within the stipulated time frame thus paving a massive development facelift in Jalandhar besides ensuring ultra modern civic facilities to its residents. Punjab Government is this emphasising the need to ensure supply of potable water to each and every household, best road-sewerage network, waste disposal, developing parks in colonies. He also urged the people to become fully aware about the development works being under progress in their respective areas and their social audit.

While thanking the Chief Minister, Jalandhar Cantt MLA Pargat Singh said that  project works worth Rs. 161 crore were initiated today including two sewerage projects of Rs. 68 crore each and two road projects at a cost of Rs 26.31 crore.

The MLA further mentioned that these projects would resolve major civic issues of this area. He said that the installation of 100.66 km long sewerage line had been started in 11 villages included in the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation, which would be competed at a cost of Rs 67 crore to provide modern civic amenities to 7300 households of villages namely Subhani, Khambra, Alipur, Sofipind, Rehmanpur, Khusropur, Nangal Karar Khan, Alladinpur, Deep Nagar and Sansarpur. Apart from this, construction of 66 foot road leading towards Partappura from Urban Estate is also being started at a cost of Rs 24.18 crore besides another road from Alipur to Khambra, which would be completed at a cost of Rs 2.13 crore.

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Shahkot MLA Hardev Singh Laddi Sherowaia, Mayor Jagdish Raj Raja, Principal Secretary of Local Bodies Department Ajoy Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Commissioner MC Karnesh Sharma.
