STUDENTS FROM PRE-NURSERY TO 5TH CLASSES TO LEARN THROUGH CREATIVE AND ACTIVITY BASED CONTENT IN VIDEOS

In order to ensure quality education to the students from pre-nursery and 5th class through creative and activity based video content at their homes in the absence of regular classes, the district administration has started a Digital Parent Margdarshak Programme for such children by involving their parents.

 Divulging more information, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr Vishesh Sarangal said that this activity-based learning will cover the entire syllabus from nursery to Class V through small video clips on WhatsApp. He said that this program in association with Meraki foundation will help to fulfil the academic and developmental needs of children at home by conducting one activity per day on the selected topics. He said that the children will perform curriculum-based activities under this program and will be helped parents in doing these activities.

Mr Sarangal said that daily one-minute of videos are shared in the WhatsApp groups of the teachers, anganwari workers and self-help groups daily who further share to parents and then, then a video was being sent by parents back to the groups among which best video was selected daily. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) informed that the entire syllabus had been divided into the activities.

He said that the programme will enable the parents to educate their children and creative positive environment for their wards by mitigating negative impact of the prevailing situation arising out of Covid-19 pandemic. He said that the administration aims to cover around 45000 children of the district and has already reached to 5000 children who are being taught daily through these videos.

Mr Sarangal lauded the efforts of SDM-II Mr Rahul Sindhu, MC Joint Commissioner Ms Inaayat and others for taking keen interest in this project.
