Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: This story is of 78years old man of Ekalkhori village of Rajasthan’s Jodhpur. The name of this man is Ranjeetaram and popularly known as tree man. The meaning of Ranjeetaram is a person who won wars. Ranjeetaram won the war of planting thousands of trees in Sand dunes of rajasthan.
This man has set up an example by planting 50000 trees in the sand dunes of rajasthan. Ranjeetaram has indulged in plantation from the age of 37. He every morning walk for 3 km with his camel to water saplings that he has planted. He belong to that community who had participated in Chipko Movement for saving trees. Now, he is proceeding with the hierarchy by planting various types of tress in sand dunes.
In an interview he added that, “My school was 33km away from my home so I was not able to attend regular classes but I have learnt a lot from nature and when I was 37 yrs old I decided to give my life for planting trees.”
He had planted Neem, Rohida, Fig, Khejri, Kankeri, Babool and Bougainvillaea kind of trees across 10 acres of land. Ekalikhori is 100 km away from Jodhpur and it’s like impossible to plant this type of plants. But he made that impossible work possible. He always plant saplings in schools, temples and villages right before the first rain of season. And also tries to protect them from animals. He believes that greenery will again rule the future. Due to his believe many villagers are also supporting his call of planting trees.
