2008 terror attack suspect, Tahawwur Rana remains in US custody

Chandigarh, Tahawwur Rana, wanted in 2008 terror attack, remains in US custody. Federal judge in Los Angeles are confused in sending accused to India.

Tahawwur Rana will remain in federal custody, sources said. Magistrate judge on Thursday has ordered the defense Attorneys and Prosecutors to submit all the additional documents by July 15. Tahawwur Rana, is a Pakistan born Canadian wanted by Indian authorities for involvement in the Mumbai terror attack which killed 160 people, which also includes 6 Americans. Indian warrant for his arrest was issued in August 2018. Rana was childhood friend of prime convict David Coleman.

Headley, was arrested on June 10,2020 in Los Angeles and extradition request by India. He was also the part of Pakistan based terrorist group Lashkar-E-Taiba who also executed the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. Headley was made an approver in the case and is currently serving a 35 year prison term in the US for his role in the attack. Headley and Rana attended military high school in Pakistan together Rana Immigration Law Center in Chicago, as well as a satellite office in Mumbai was allegedly used as a front for their terrorism activities between 2006 and 2008, prosecutors said.
