Chandigarh (The Stellar News): Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Wednesday issued order to conduct a thorough probe into the incident involving a prisoner of Barnala Jail.
S. Randhawa took notice after Karamjit Singh, a prisoner of Barnala jail during his hearing at Mansa court alleged that the jail staff had written objectionable words on his body.
S. Randhawa, who also holds charge of the jail department, directed ADGP (Jails) PK Sinha to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the matter and asked him to get done medical examination of the prisoner to ascertain the complete matter.
ADGP Jails further informed that DIG Ferozepur division Tajinder Singh Maur has been appointed as the investigating officer for the case and he will visit the spot on Thursday to probe the matter.
