FARMERS PROTEST: BHARAT BANDH CALLED BY SAMYUKT KISAN MORCHA

Delhi (The Stellar News), Report: Saksham: Farm Union Samyukt Kisan Morcha which is effectively participating in farmers protest from last various months has called a Bharat Bandh. The strike will be held on 26th of March. Bharat Bandh will be effective from morning 6:00am to evening 6:00pm.

Farmers from various states are protesting from last various months against three contentious farm laws. Farmers are demanding revoke of three farm laws and enactment of legal guarantee on MSP. Farmers fear that new laws will privatize the agriculture sector and dismantle guarantee on MSP (Minimum Support Price).

This is the 2nd Bharat Bandh call by farmers. First Bharat Bandh was called on 6December, 2020. This Bandh got support from various political parties and traders. The effect of this Bandh was seen in Punjab, Haryana, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra. Farmer leader Buta Singh Burjgill has appealed all citizens to make Bandh successful. “The peaceful bandh will remain effective from morning till evening,” Burjgill said.

“In order to make Bharat Bandh successful, all District President, the Block President / Tehsil President and top officials should coordinate to ensure that this bandh is made successful,” the Bhartiya Kisan Morcha said in Tweet.
In a meeting held earlier this month the unions also said the rallies and protests against the corporates will intensify.

What is going to affect-

During bandh no rail and traffic will be allowed to move and all business establishments will be closed. Farmers also announced that they will burn copies of three farm bills on the occasion of ‘Holika Dahan’.

Supporting party-

Congress MP Digvijaya Singh tweeted in support of the protesting farmers. “We support the call for Bharat Bandh on 26th March against the three Anti-Farmers Bill,” Singh said.
