DC Rajouri visits the dairy farm at Bathian

J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News) Anil Bhardwaj: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today paid a visit to the newly set up dairy farm at the Bathian area of Thanamandi subdivision. Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Fazal Hussain; Superintendent DVH, Dr Raman Gupta; Executive Engineer I&FC Rajouri, Sageer Malik besides Sarpanches, Panches and local farmers were also present on the occasion. The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer informed that presently there are 20 animals in the Dairy farm including 18 buffaloes and 02 cows.While speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Rajouri has a huge potential in the dairy sector and the sector has a great potential to generate huge employment in the district and can contribute massively to the socio-economic transformation of the farming community.

Deputy Commissioner informed that Rajouri has been identified as a dairy district under the ODOP scheme and the Government is working on a multi-pronged strategy to increase milk production and double the Dairy farmers income. Deputy Commissioner urged upon the farmers to put in place added efforts to promote and enhance milk and Milk products in the district to make the district an export hub in the identified products besides he also assured full support from the District Administration in this regard. “Under ODOP district Rajouri has been selected as MiLk district and he wants to see 2000 diaries by the end of this year,” he added Deputy Commissioner also informed the farmers about several Government schemes being implemented by different departments in the district for their Welfare and motivated them to avail themselves the benefits of the same. The DC also stressed that youth should come forward and avail the benefits of schemes meant for uplifting the socio-economic status of the employed youth. The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned Executive Engineer from I&FC to construct a protection wall around the dairy farm. Chief Animal Husbandry Officer has been directed to ensure full support to the farmers for their dairy-related activities. He also said the District administration bus committed to providing the required platform to the youth of the district. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also paid a visit to the Jute bag manufacturing unit at Fatehpur and informed that the District Administration has decided to ban the single-use plastic in the district and urged upon the workers to manufacture more and more jute bags to make the district clean, green and single-usele use plastic.
