NO BUSINESS IN MONSOON SESSION TILL NOW, AS OPPOSITION CONTINUOUSLY PROTEST OVER PEGASUS AND FARM LAWS

Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: In the ongoing monsoon session, no business work has been done as the opposition party leaders created ruckus in the parliament. The whole opposition chaos the Parliament over the Pegasus Spyware and three contentious Farm laws, disrupted the working by protesting in the parliament.

While the Lok Sabha, which witnessed an unruly behaviour in the form of tearing of papers and throwing them towards the Speaker’s Chair and the treasury benches, saw the passage of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2021, as also the first batch of the Supplementary Demand for Grants, and the Appropriations Bill, numbers 3 and 4, without debate and by a voice vote.

Seven opposition parties also urged President Ram Nath Kovind to intervene in the matter of Pegasus spyware and three farm laws and urged him to talk with Centre Government to repeal Farm laws and enquire the Pegasus case.

Amid the ruckus, many amendments were passed in both the parliaments without any discussion. All opposition parties called it as the attempt of Centre Government to muffle the voice of opposition parties. The Pegasus spyware had triggered the politics in the country and prompt all opposition parties to seek Supreme Court monitored enquiry in the matter.

Previously, opposition parties claimed that they sought discussion time over the Pegasus spyware and farm laws but government refused to give them. While the Centre stated that they are ready to talk but opposition is just trying to create ruckus in the parliament.

As same as the other days of monsoon session, the parliament got adjourned multiple times and today the parliament is adjourned to 11:00 am on 30th July. The decision came amid the increased sloganeering in the parliament over Pegasus and farm laws.
