Hoshiarpur (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Punjab is going to witness Assembly Elections next year amid this many political parties are trying their best to make sure that they will win the elections. But this time, the Punjab Politics is adopting another track by which every Political Parties are tempting the people.
The new trick, “Just Vote us, everything will be free” will make Punjab people financially as well as mentally dependent on government. Many political parties who are in the race of assembly elections are doing big announcements and ignoring real situation of Punjab economical conditions.
“Race to announce something bigger than other”:
In last Years, Indian political parties tried many tricks for taking votes but now by leaving all the major issues, “everything free” policy is adopted by these parties. The race of announcing something bigger than other is ignoring the real issues of Punjab.
AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal is giving multiple guaranties to Punjab people like free electricity, free water, free education, Free Healthcare and giving one thousand rupee to every women of Punjab.
While the SAD (Shiromini Akali Dal) allied BSP (Bahujan Samaj Paty) is also following the same track and is promising to give free electricity, announcing holiday on Chath Pooja, providing discount on diesel for farmers and giving Rs 2000 to every women of Punjab.
They are promising these things but how they will make it possible is still a big question?
“We want to become financially independent, not dependency over Govt”: Youth
Punjab Youth is really fed up with the fake promises and want real issues to be raised in Public domain. When the stellar news team did a survey and asked youth about what they want from government.
Stellar News team reached many areas of Punjab, like Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur , Jalandhar, Nabba, Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Nava shehar. Sakshi from Kapurthala said, She want that every citizen of Punjab should get jobs near to their homes, Navdeep from Hoshiarpur raised the issue of drugs in Punjab. While the others including Karan, Manjot from Hoshiarpur, Heman, Simren from Kapurthala and Diksha, Rohan from Kapurthala also condemned the policy of giving everything free and demands government to create new opportunities so that they will become financially independent. while some other urged Election Commission of India to completely ban on parties who are doing politics of “Everything free”.
Why implementing these promises is practically impossible:
Punjab is a state with 2.82 Lakh crore debt and with financial income of 1.62 lakh crore. The annual expenditure of Punjab is Rs 1.68 lakh crore. (As per data available).This means Punjab is running out of funds.
Some Policies like free Rashion, subsidies on electricity to a definite sector has just burdens the finance of Punjab.
These policies were launched to help poor section but the misuse of these policies has turned the policies as income resource for many people.
