Phagwara (The Stellar News): On 04th Apr’ 2023 at about 0850 PM, Border Security Force troops deployed at border, heard buzzing sound of a suspected flying object (drone) entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the area near Village – Dhanoe Kalan in District – Amritsar. As per the laid down drill, troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone by firing.
During subsequent search of the area, BSF troops recovered 03 big sized packets wrapped in yellow adhesive tape from the wheat fields of Village – Bachiwind, Distt – Amritsar. On opening of the recovered 03 packets, 09 small packets (03 per big packet) of contrabands suspected to be Heroin (Gross weight – appx 9.5 Kgs) were found.
(ii) In yet another incident, on 05th Apr’ 2023, on specific information, BSF
troops recovered 05 bottles filled with contraband suspected to be Heroin, concealed in the wheat fields, in a scattered manner, on own side of fence near Village – Mehandipur in District – Tarn Taran. The gross weight of the recovered 05 bottles containing narcotics substance came out around 2.638 Kg. Vigilant troops of BSF, once again, foiled nefarious designs of drug smugglers.
