Surendra Lamba, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, a noose has been tightened against antisocial elements and special police teams comprising of Sh. Sarabjit Singh Bahiya, PPS, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Hoshiarpur, Sh. Parminder Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Hoshiarpur, Sh. Talwinder Kumar, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rural), Hoshiarpur, Inspector Balwinder Pal, Incharge, CIA Staff, Hoshiarpur, S.I Gurpreet SHO, Police Station Hariana, S.I Harprem Singh SHO, Police Station Dasuya and S.I Jaswant Singh SHO, Police Station Bullowal have been successful in arresting accused involved in gruesome murder of Sarpanch Sandeep Kumar @ Cheena in the area of Dasurka, Police Station Bullowal and said accused have been arrested alongwith illegal weapons after an encounter with police team.
Surendra Lamba, Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur while issuing press note had narrated that on 04.01.2024, Anoop Kumar @ Vicky son of Ashwani Kumar, Asalpur, Police Station Bullowal, District Hoshiarpur alongwith 2 of his unknown accomplices with common intention had murdered Sandeep Kumar Sarpanch @ Cheena (aged approximately 45 years) son of Satpal Singh, resident of Dodianna Kalan, Police Station Hariana by shooting him with the help of weapon while said Sandeep Kumar @ Cheena was present at his tile dump at locality Dasurka and due to said unfortunate incident, there was a sense of terror in the area & surrounding localities, certain social & political outfits have condemned the gruesome incident of 04.01.2024 and there was a constant demand from said outfits to arrest the accused involved in the said incident. That after the said incident, Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur under supervision of Superintendent of Police (Investigation) constituted various team and whole District was immediately put on high alert and said teams immediately initiated investigation of present case and within 24 hours of said incident, first accused namely Rohit Kumar @ Sooraj son of Gurdeep Singh, resident of Sherpur Galind, Police Station Bullowal, District Hoshiarpur was arrested in the present case on 05.01.2024 and during further investigation and on the basis of information gathered from sources, one car make Swift bearing registration No.PB08-FB-3805 used by accused after commission of crime was recovered alongwith its driver Sanmat Khosla son of Naveen, resident of Mohalla Balmik, Police Station Tanda, District Hoshiarpur and on 09.01.2024, other accused involved in commission of crime namely Gurpreet @ Gopi Shooter son of Davinder Kumar, resident of Ghorewah, Police Station Tanda, District Hoshiarpur & Mandeep Singh @ Meepa son of Kashmiri Lal, resident of Village Mohaa, Police Station Tanda, District Hoshiarpur were arrested on 09.01.2024 and after arrest of abovesaid accused, police teams constantly searched the whereabouts of main accused and at night of 09.01.2024, Incharge, CIA Staff Inspector Balwinder Pal got an information from secret sources that main accused Anoop Kumar @ Vicky by riding on a motorcycle make R-15 is traveling from area of Police Station Hariana from Dholwaha to Dahera and team of CIA Staff alongwith officials of Police Station Hariana started search operation for searching Anoop Kumar and when teams while searching alongside banks of river reached near Lalpur, then police party saw a motorcycle coming and when police party with help of torch & search light signaled motorcycle to stop, then motorcycle rider on seeing police party got perplexed and motorcycle got unbalanced & fell and motorcycle rider tried to run away and when police party tried to surround the said motorcycle rider, the motorcycle rider on seeing this, with intention to kill fired gunshot on police party and in response to said firing by police party, said Anoop Kumar @ Vicky got injured and was sent immediately for treatment to Civil Hospital, Hoshiarpur after arranging a vehicle and since Anoop Kumar @ Vicky in order to escape his arrest and with intention to kill member of police party had fired gunshots on police party, thus, FIR No.04, dated 10.01.2024, U/s 307, 353, 186 IPC & U/s 25-54-59 of Arms Act, Police Station Hariana, District Hoshiarpur has been registered against Anoop Kumar @ Vicky and during investigation today on 10.01.2024, other accused namely Manpreet Singh @ Manish son of Jagjit Singh, resident of Village Kalyanpur, Police Station Lambra, District Jalandhar & Karan Kumar @ Kanu son of Ashwani Kumar, resident of Asalpur, Police Station Bullowal, District Hoshiarpur were arrested. Hoshiarpur Police have arrested accused persons involved in commission of murder of Sandeep Kumar Sarpanch @ Cheena and the same is appreciable. Further investigation of said case is in progress.
