In his first tenure Prime Minister Narendra Modi took some unprecedented steps that led to some drastic change in the society. The most prominent and eminent was Swatch Bharat Mission which was to create awareness about the maintaining cleanliness in country which has never gained attention before.

This also involves the decision of imposing Goods and service tax (GST) which led to the imposition of a single tax on goods of country and revocation of state taxes. The main purpose of imposing this Tax was to prevent theft of taxes from various industries.

Another big step took by BJP-led central government was the devaluation of Indian Rupee notes which forced country citizens to stand in lines outside the banks for new notes. These steps was expected to be curse for the BJP Government in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha Elections but the results of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections showed the power of face Popularity of PM Narendra Modi and  lack of strong opposition in the country.

Just after coming into power BJP started accomplishing the promises made in manifesto which involves construction of Ram Mandir and revocation of article 370 from J&K. In 2019 Centre Government revoked Article 370 and Supreme Court also gave final verdict on Ayodhya Land Dispute case. After that BJP succeeded to win elections in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh with majority where they had head to head competition with opposition parties.

About in the starting of 2020 there seems to be nothing that can harm the popularity of BJP or Narendra Modi. But a new challenge came in front of Indian Government was covid-19 virus which was unprecedented and never confronted by the Government. The time was that when people trusted PM Modi and supported his request of Beating Thalis and lighting Diyas in homes.

But now this is the time when there is no effect of PM tears on people of country. The tears seemed to be Fake for citizens. This is all because, in last one and a half year health and economic failure was exposed in front of the country. Every awe of people was for the current ruling party, people who faced scarcity of oxygen, lack of health infrastructure, lost jobs, People lost their lives and record decreased economy of the country.

Farmers protest also became a reason of defaming the reputation of Indian government among the people of the country. This protest gained a lot of support from various states and took people against the Modi Government.

BJP wants to add another glory in their list by winning West Bengal elections and disseminate their ideology in Eastern Coast as well. But CM of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee pulled back the whole BJP into their limits and BJP lost the elections. This was the first area of concern for BJP. Another concern came in front of the BJP when BJP loses regional elections in Uttar Pradesh where they gained an eminent win in last Bipolar elections.

In this one and a half year people changed their minds and blaming Centre Government’s working for the country wide loss. Now, this is going to be difficult for BJP to gain majority in next elections.
