Uttar Pradesh (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: As the country in this year witnessed the second wave of covid-19 which was the worst from previous one and led to deaths of hundreds of people, another decease started spreading in UP. As the second wave of Covid-19 abs, the cases of dengue in the districts of UP have started coming in very high numbers. The worst hit district of UP is Firozabad and there already more than 50 deaths with the lethal decease.
Hospitals of area are busting with the patients and amid the bad health infrastructure, patients are facing problems for getting treatments. In Firozabad there is hardly any house left where the dengue has not affected the children. Most of people are very poor so they can’t afford scans and medications for their children. For a normal checkup to find out that their children is infected with dengue or not they have to pay Rs900 which is really out of their pocket’s budget and capability.
State government had sent medical teams in the area but the ground level truth is really very harsh. The infection is infecting especially children and is still out of control of doctors and government.
Children are dying and are exposing the Uttar Pradesh’s rural health infrastructure. At this time the statement of Allahabad High court really suits, which quotes that, “the rural health infrastructure of UP is at god’s mercy.”
