Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Last days, Income tax department conducted multiple raids on actor and social worker Sonu Sood’s premises. This led to a political buzz in the country as Sonu Sood recently joined Aam Aadmi Party as a brand ambassador of children mentorship program. Many opposition leaders lashed out on centre for humiliating actor for coming in contact with other political parties.
Income tax in a statement said that, Actor Sonu Sood has evaded tax of over Rs20cr. “During the course of search at the premises of the actor &his associates, incriminating evidence pertaining to tax evasion found. The main modus operandi followed by the actor had been to route his unaccounted income in form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities,” Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said.
“The total amount of tax evaded unearthed so far, amounts to more than ₹20 crore”, CBDT said.
