Earlier the forces were suspicious that the delivery of the package was done by drones but later it became clear that some locals threw the packet on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

After BSF troops reached the spot, they noticed some suspicious movement and opened fire, however, the suspects managed to escape.

Before this, on June 8, four smugglers were also arrested in Sriganganagar for dropping 3.5kg of heroin on Indo-Pak border with the help of Pak-drones.
