FORMER CABINET MINISTER SUNDR SHYAM ARORA ARRESTED FOR BRIBING OFFICIALS

Punjab (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Former Industries and commerce minister Sunder Shyam Arora has been caught red handed for offering bribe to Vigilence bureau official. Former Minister was always been in news for scandals and scams and Vigilance have also questioned him twice about his properties on September 21 and then on October 12.

Arora has contested Punjab assembly election from Hoshiarpur seat and lost from the AAP candidate Bhram Shankar Jimpa. Former Minister have ditched Congress and joined BJP with some other former Punjab cabinet ministers.

As per information, Vigilence had set up an trap to caught Former Minister red handed. For that, AIG Manohar Kumar went to Minister’s residence on October 14, where Arora offered him money in exchange of freeing him from the case against him. Arora on Saturday night along with his PA (Personal Assistant) went to meet AIG Manmohan Kumar and to give the first instalment of Rs 50 lakh of total bribe of Rs 1 crore. The Vigilance bureau officials as per plan caught Arora with Rs 50 lakh cash.

Chief Director of state vigilance bureau ADGP Varinder Kumar said, “Arora has been arrested from the parking of Cosmo Mall Zirakpur in the night when he handed over a bag containing Rs 50 lakh to a vigilance officer in a vehicle. It was a pre-planned exercise and we had laid a trap.”

“We are further probing from where Arora had got this money and also about the role of other persons connected to him,” said the chief Director.
