DESPITE OF WINNING ONLY TWO SEATS, BJP ALL SET TO FORM GOVERNMENT IN MEGHALAYA

New Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: On Thursday, Elections Commission announced the results of three states Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura where the assembly elections were held last month. The numbers went in favor of BJP as in Tripura with 32 seats, settled at second position in Nagaland with 12 seats and got just two seats in Meghalaya.

But interestingly BJP without getting majority in Nagaland and Meghalaya is all set to form Government in both the states amid the strong position of its ally parties. BJP’s ally National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) got 25 seats where as in Meghalaya National People’s Party got the highest from others, 26 seats. As a result, taking BJP into a strong position of forming government in all three states.

In Tripura BJP got 32 seats while Tipra Motha Party won 13 seats and retains second position. Communist Party of India (Marxist) won 11, Indian National Congress won 3 and Indigenous People’s front of Tripura won 1 seat in Assembly elections.

Meghalaya gives its mandate in favour of National People’s Party with 26 votes and United Democratic Party retains second position with 11 seats. Congress and Trinamool won 5, Voice of the People Party won 4 seats and BJP, Hill State People’s Demoratic Party, People’s Democratic Front and Others managed to won two-two seats.

In Nagaland, National Democratic Progressive Party is has gained maximum number of seats with 25 seats, BJP won 12 seats, Nationalist Congress Party won 7 and National People’s Party won five seats.
