J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News), Anil Bhardwaj: In a major action, Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri have arrested a notorious narcotics / drugs peddler who was selling the narcotics, drugs among youth besides luring them in this illegal trade thereby posing a big threat to the society. Arrest has been made by police during raid in presence of Executive Magistrate. In an official statement from District Police Office Rajouri, it has been informed that a young man living near DIET complex in Kheora was luring youth in illegal trade of drugs, narcotics and was supplying these banned materials to the youth. Taking view of his illegal acts, a team of police headed by Deputy SP Headquarter Rajouri Mudassir Hussain alongwith SHO Rajouri Mohammad Showket and other officials of police station conducted a raid at the suspected location in presence of Executive Magistrate. During this raid conducted in evening hours on Tuesday, police team intercepted the notorious peddler namely Basid Ali son of Barkat Ali resident of Nadian Darhal, at present Kheora Rajouri.
During search 10 grams of Heroine like substance, banned injections (Diazepam) 48 numbers, one electronic weighing machine, one roll of aluminium foil, three mobile phones, two ATM cards and cash of rupees fifty four thousand, two hundred and twenty rupees has been recovered. Police said to have registered a case in FIR 204 /2023 U/Ss 8/21/22/27-A NDPS Act in police station Rajouri. Police further said that the arrested youth has become notorious in terms of peddling of drugs, narcotics and was under vigil of police.
His arrest has been made under Say No To Drugs campaign of police which aims towards eradication of this menace, crime from society and to save generations from menace, crime and threat of drugs and narcotics addiction. SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh (IPS) while calling for cooperation and proactive role of civil society members said that threat of narcotics and drugs can be dealt with inclusive participation of all the stakeholders of society in war against drugs.
He said that many arrests have been made in the district in past with stringent action against accused and the action will remain continue. SSP Rajouri further appealed people to come forward and to share details of peddlers involved in peddling assuring that identification of informed will be kept completely confidential.
