Punjabi Singers Warned for using lyrics of Liquor and Violence in Songs

Gangsters and crimes are increasing day by day in Punjab. Punjabi songs which promotes liquor, violence, guns, pistols, drugs may have very dangerous effect on the youth’s mind. It is a matter of great concern. The violence based songs should be banned in order to protect our younger generation.

Punjab Director General of Police Suresh Arora has directed all Districts SSPs to meet all the singers of their respective area and ordered them to avoid using liquor, guns, revolvers in their songs lyrics.

As per the instructions, of DGP Suresh Arora to hold meetings with singer, Senior Superintendent of Batala police, Opinderjit Singh met with many singers of his area including Ranjit Bawa. SSP appealed them to avoid the songs which contains the liquor and violence based lyrics. Strict actions will be taken against singers, if they are found to promote liquor and guns in their songs.
