68 People Died in Venezuelan Police Station Riot and Fire

68 people were killed after a fire exploded during a riot in the cells of a northern Venezuelan police station in the central city of Valencia on Wednesday.

Huge crowd of family members had gathered outside the facility. Families of the victims were dispersed with tear gas and authorities did not give them any information until late evening.

As per the information, many Venezuelan prisons are overcrowded and filled with weapons and drugs. Gunfire was reported as the rioting began, although the source and the reasons were unclear, and the fire erupted during the riot.
