Chandigarh (The Stellar News), Saksham: On Friday, Vigilance Department of Punjab raided at various Hospitals of Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala. Vigilance Department enquired all records of these hospitals. Previously, Vigilance Department revels that some private hospitals have done scam in insurance money of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. They said that, some Private Hospitals of Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala made fake bills on the names of some Ayushman Bharat smart card holders, claimed insurance money from insurance firms for their treatment which is never provided to them.
So, taking action on this vigilance department raided hospitals and checked their records. Vigilance department also raided a big hospital of Pathankot and grilled owner for around one and half hour. DGP-cum-Chief Director Vigilance Bureau B K Uppal said that, The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has exposed a “big scam worth crores of rupees” under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana – ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme in which “private hospitals obtained health insurance claims from a private insurance company on the basis of fake bills for treatment of beneficiary patients possessing smart health cards”.
“Contrary to this, the insurance firm had rejected hundreds of insurance claims pertaining to government hospitals causing a huge loss to the state exchequer,” Uppal said in a written statement issued to the media. Vigilance Department also said that, vigilance department will investigate this matter extensively and no one will be spared.
