Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: From last month India is facing a huge rise in number of cases of corona virus. As due to the beginning of second wave of covid-19 the symptoms in people also changed. In previous wave the main symptoms we saw in covid-19 positive patients were fever, weakness, cough and mild breathing problem.

But in this second wave people getting infected from covid-19 are facing severe breathlessness problem. Due to this the demand of oxygen gets increased and this creates a scarcity of oxygen in country.

Another problem is that in this tough situation the people started stocking oxygen gas cylinders. Due to this people who really need oxygen cylinders doesn’t get oxygen.

Some loopholes in administration-

Biggest loophole in Government administration is inappropriate checking of oxygen cylinders. Some persons working in oxygen production plants and delivery staff are involving in black marketing of oxygen cylinders. They took oxygen cylinders and sell them in markets at thrice the price of oxygen cylinders. Government should check this and if this problem solves then definitely oxygen will reach people who really need it.

Another loophole is inadequate supply facilities. Government is facing a biggest problem in supplying produced oxygen. Various times government officials said that we are facing problem in supplying oxygen to hospitals. They don’t have adequate number of oxygen supplying trucks.

What government is doing to tackle this scarcity of Oxygen-

Centre Government of India is taking various steps to tackle this situation. Government also started establishing oxygen production plants in country. Centre announced that they are going to set up 551 new oxygen production plants in public health services with the help of PM cares fund.  Government is also importing emergency supplies from other countries. This includes hospital beds, masks and oxygen concentrators.

Government also waives all excise duties from importing medically used equipments. This involves oxygen cylinders, medical equipments used in treating covid-19 patients and other useful things.

What kind of help is India getting from other Countries-

In this tough time various foreign countries are standing up for helping India. Countries like USA, Saudi Arabia, France, Taiwan and many more are helping India to fight against this Covid pandemic.

America is sending various oxygen concentrators, oxygen refillable cylinders, N95 masks and many rapid test kits which can detect covid-19 in just 15 minutes. America has also redirected its own supply of Astrazeneca vaccine raw material towards India by which India will be able to produce 20 million Vaccine.

Taiwan is also helping India and sending oxygen generators along with other medical equipments.

Another country which is Saudi Arabia has done an appreciable work by sending 80MT medical oxygen to India on an operational level. And many other countries raised their hands for helping India.

This is not a sudden step by these Countries, all are helping India because India helped all these countries when they are in their tough time. Last year when America was facing scarcity of medical equipments than India came forward and sent medical supplies to America.

India already supplied millions of vaccines to other nations for fighting against Covid pandemic. Many countries already mentioned this that India had helped them when they are in worst situation of covid-19. So, they are also helping India to fight against this corona crisis.
