Vigilance nabs two FCI officials, a private person in bribery case, One official absconding in this case

Chandigarh May 21: Punjab Vigilance Bureau today registered a corruption case against four accused and arrested two FCI officials and a private person in this bribery case in Sangrur district.

          Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said Om Parkash Technical Assistant (TA) and Amit Kumar Assistant Manager (AM) posted at FCI Sunam depot and a private person named Paramjeet Sharma have been arrested on the complaint of Sikanderjeet Singh of Patiala. In this case another accused Naresh Kumar Quality Controller FCI has been absconding.

He added that the complainant has approached the bureau and informed that the above accused were demanding Rs. 25,000 per truck in lieu of clearing quality checking of rice and storage at FCI godown Sunam in Sangrur district. After verifying the facts the vigilance team nabbed the accused TA Om Parkash red-handed in the presence of two official witnesses. Afterwards the Vigilance personnel have also arrested AM Amit Kumar and their accomplice, a private person Paramjit Singh for accepting bribed amount.

          In this case the Bureau have registered a corruption case against all the above said accused under prevention of corruption act at vigilance bureau police station Patiala and further investigations are under progress. Vigilance has dispatched teams to nab the absconding officials in this bribery case.
