Kullu, A clip of SP Gaurav Singh and a police official deputed in the security of chief minister Jai Ram Thakur got viral slapping and kicking each other on media platforms.Though the report of the inquiry being conducted by DIG (Central Range) Madhusudan is yet to be submitted, the government is choosing upon suspending the two. Brijesh Sood, ASP (CM Security), has been shifted and Puneet Raghu, Additional SP, Third India Reserve Battalion, Pandoh, in Mandi has been posted in his place to look after the CM security. Following the incident on Wednesday where Kullu SP had slapped Sood and Balwant had retaliated by kicking the SP, all three had been sent on compulsory leave. Gurdev Sharma, Commandant, Fifth India Reserve Battalion (Mahila), has been posted as SP, Kullu, in place of Gaurav Singh.
The incident took place outside the Bhuntar airport at Kullu where Chief Minister Jai Ram had gone to receive the Union Minster Road Transports and Highways Nitin Gadkari. The incident in viral video was about Superintendent of police Gaurav Singh hitting slap to the chief minster’s appointed security official, reportedly allowing members to the four lane member of Prabhavit Kisan Sangh to gather outside the airport. The SP was kicked as he withdraws and eventually runs back to save himself. The police official was also seen kicking the SP, near chief minster’s vehicle All this while, the Chief Minister was seated in his official car.
At that time, other personnel in the CM security and local police came in between to stop the incident. The reason of the incident was that SP and security police official was arguing over Prabhavit Kisan Sangh gathered outside the Bhuntar airport. Around 50 number of people were standing outside the Bhuntar airport holding the banners with the hope of meeting Thakur and Gadkari. Gadkari stepped out of the car in order to meet these people with patience. The association member gave memorandum to Gadkari. Thakur standing next to Gadkari was listening to the grievances, for the demanding the higher compensation for land acquired and widening highways.
