Two Killed, Several Injured as Mini-Bus Plunges into Gorge in Kalakote Rajouri

JAMMU/RAJOURI (THE STELLAR NEWS), REPORT-ANIL BHARDWAJ: A tragic road accident occurred in the Keri Chabbar area of the Mogla-Taryath region of Kalakote subdivision in Rajouri district, where a mini-bus carrying around 30 people plunged into a deep gorge after reportedly skidding off the road. Two people were reported dead, while around 21 others sustained serious injuries. According to preliminary information, five of the injured were stated to be in critical condition. Some of the seriously injured were referred to Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, for further treatment.

One Family Was Travelling in the Vehicle
According to reports, around 30 members of a family from the Marchola area of Sunderbani subdivision were travelling towards the Mogla-Taryath area after visiting relatives to express condolences over a death in the family. During the journey, the driver reportedly lost control of the mini-bus in the Keri Chhabbar area, causing the vehicle to skid off the road and plunge into a deep gorge.

Rescue Operation Launched
The accident triggered panic and cries for help at the scene. Soon after receiving information about the incident, the Block Medical Officer (BMO), Kalakote, dispatched an ambulance from Kalakote to the accident site. A rescue operation was launched to evacuate the injured from the gorge and provide them with immediate medical assistance. All the injured were shifted to a government hospital for treatment. In view of the critical condition of some patients, several were referred to GMC Jammu for specialised medical care.
