Punjab (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu after involving into an strong ideology clash with Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh, succeeded to get post of Punjab Congress President. His close relations with party high command made possible for him to get opportunity of becoming party president in Punjab and become big face in Punjab politics.
But this decision of Congress High command has divided the Punjab congress into two fronts. One is Navjot Singh Sidhu with his 64 party MLA’s who support him and other is Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh with his 15 MLA’s. Sidhu and Amarinder singh showed their anger against each other on various platforms. Both denies to work with each other and this had created a big problem with aspect to 2022 Punjab Assembly elections.
No doubt that Congress high command had tried to make Punjab congress united but the appointment of Sidhu has disappointed Punjab CM. On this, Punjab CM also wrote a letter to National Congress party president Sonia Gandhi and showed his concern over loss to party with the Sidhu’s appointment as Punjab Party President.
Acc. to sources from Punjab CM office, the Punjab CM wants public apology from Navjot Singh Sidhu. As Sidhu insulted CM with his tweets and Public statements that made bitter relation between them. Now, the ball is in Capt Amarinder singh’s court, and people are waiting for his reply.
In this speculations, Sidhu is trying to get support of all party MLA’s and senior leaders and for this he visited many senior leaders houses and invited many Party MLA’s to his house for lunch. Sidhu also succeeded to get former Punjab Party president Sunil Jhakhar on his side.
Most of the party MLA’s who are on the side of Sidhu are presently not declaring Punjab CM as an obstacle in the Punjab’s development but some among them are openly claiming that in the 4 and half years ruling of Congress, higher authorities were not allowing them to work in public welfare.
In the celebration of Sidhu’s appointment many MLA’s went to Golden temple and seeks blessing from almighty. When reporters asks Congress MLA’s to speak over the demand of apology from Capt Amarinder singh, they said that, there is no need of apology for the person who apologize to almighty in golden temple.
