National Unity Day observed in Rajouri; Ekta pledge administered

J&K/RAJOURI (The Stellar News) Anil Bhardwaj: To commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel, the District Administration Rajouri today observed National Unity Day/ Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The main program was organised here at PWD Dak Bungalow where rich tributes were paid to Iron Man of India on his birth anniversary amid the holding of the Ekta pledge. The Ekta Pledge was read by DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir.

Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan highlighted the great contribution of India’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel towards integration and unity of the country in the post Independence era.He said that Sardar Sahib’s dedication, loyalty, and struggle inspires every Indian to dedicate himself to the unity and integrity of the country and we all need to follow in his footsteps and do whatever suits the National interest. The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the efforts and contribution of Sardar Patel in the integration of the Princely states with India. Underlining the need for unity, he observed that unity inspires patriotic fervour, makes us better human beings and enables us to achieve great things.

“When we are united then we can surmount any challenges and accomplish any goal and development of our society and country depends on this spirit”, he added. He also appealed to the public to stay united and work together with the District Administration for the peace, prosperity and development of the region. He said let us reaffirm our commitment to upholding the unity and integrity of the country. The Deputy also paid rich tributes to all those who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. ADDC, Pawan Parihar, ADC, Sach Dev Singh; CEO, Gulzar Hussain, CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; and other district Officers teachers participated in the event.
