Ferozpur (The Stellar News): Raja Mohtam Day, was organized by BSF at BOP Raha Mohtam, Ferozepur on 11th Dec’ 2021. Raja Mohtam Day is to commemorate the martyrdom attained by Shaheed Sh Ram Krishan Wadhwa, Assistant Commandant, MVC (Posthumously) along with his eight compatriots while recapturing BOP Raja Mohtam from Pakistan Army during Indo-Pak war 1971.
Eight gallant pers who laid down their lives in line of duty are ; Insp Bhagwat Singh, SI Iqbal Singh (Sena Medal), Ct Sukha Singh, Ct Ram Singh (Sena Medal), Ct Om Prakash, Ct Ram Prakash, Ct/Cook Tahal Singh and Ct/Cook Sardool Singh. The battle saw unparalleled valour displayed by BSF fighters in the face of enemy. Homage was paid to the martyrs by wreath laying at war memorial, BOP Raja Mohtam by Brig (Retd) Sh Surendra Mehta VSM, DIG BSF Sector HQ Ferozepur and the troops. Martyrs families were also present at BOP Raja Mohtam and they were felicitated by BSF. A large attendance comprising of officials of BSF, Police & Civil Administration, media persons, villagers from border area and school children witnessed the historic event.
