Volleyball, Cricket matches organised under CAP

J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News), Anil Bhardwaj: Aimed towards harnessing the talent of sports among youth of Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir police under Civic Action Programme organised a number of sports events in the district. At Budhal and Thanamandi, volley tournament were organised in which multiple teams participated. Concerned Station House Officers, civil society members were present during these volleyball tourneys with local volleyball players put forth their sportive performance in the multiple matches played on this occasion. All the participating teams were felicitated for their performance. At Peeri, a cricket tournament was organised in which two matches were played and cricket teams from the area took part.

The local cricket players performed in a spectacular manner. Similarly, in District Police Lines Rajouri, a volleyball tournament has been organised in which different teams from across the district are taking part. Tournament has been organised with an aim to channelise the talent of sports among youth of the area. Similarly, at Nowshera, police kickstarted a cricket tournament in presence of AdSP Nowshera, SDPO Nowshera, Principal degree college, chairman municipal committee, SHO Nowshera and other civil society members. Different teams of Nowshera sub division are taking part in this tournament which will be played on knockout basis.

SSP Rajouri Mohammad Aslam said that sports is a best preventive measure against a number of social issues and is a mean to positively channelise the energy of youth and to shape them towards healthy life. He said that Civic Action Programme is an effort of Jammu and Kashmir police to provide a platform of sports to the youth in Jammu and Kashmir and under this initiative these events are being organised across Rajouri district.
