J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News),Anil Bhardwaj: In drive against drug menace, police in Nowshera sub division of Rajouri arrested a narcotics peddler recovering a consignment of Narcotics. In an official statement, Police said that a patrolling party of Police Post Lamberi while checking duty at Bagnoti area apprehended one person namely Mukesh Kumar alias Billu son of Raj Kumar resident of Ward Number 6 in Bagnoti Nala. During checking, police said 12 grams of heroine like psychotropic substance and cash to the tune of rupees 20520 was recovered from his possession.
The said person is arrested and case FIR No 118/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Nowshera. The arrest and recovery took place by the special efforts of PSI Vishal, SHO Nowshera Insp Rajesh Jasrotia and SDPO Nowshera Tussif Ahmed under the supervision of Additional SP Nowshera Amit Verma under the overall supervision of SSP Rajouri Mohd Aslam. Mentionable that the arrested accused is a notorious criminal against whom 04 case FIRs have already been registered in Police Station Nowshera. The accused was also lodged in District Jail Srinagar from 2017 to 2021 under NDPS Act. The locals of the area are appreciating the efforts of Nowshera/Lambheri Police in their continous and relentless efforts in curbing the Drugs menace which is effecting the locals especially the youth. Nowshera Police extends the help and support to civil society in developing effective inputs regarding the peddlers who are involved in the trade and supply of Narcotic substance.
