Govt. College students taking lectures on “Keep the enviornment clean” in pungent smell of garbage

Hoshiarpur (The Stellar News): The area in front of Government College, Hoshiarpur has turned into a garbage yard with general public and number of eatery shops dumping their garbage in front of the college. As the local administration does not carry out regular clearing, the garbage remains uncollected for weeks together.
As city is seeing heavier monsoon rains, the stagnation of rainwater has worsened the conditions. With no proper drainage system, this stagnant water can endanger the life of students with the budding of dengue mosquito. The administration’s failure is causing the problems for students with the pungent smell.
The municipal corporation often issues invoice to the people for improper management of garbage and undrained water from pots and coolers but its incompetency in carrying out its own duties is clearly visible. Lectures on ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and ‘Keep the environment clean’ are often given to the students, they are advised to keep the society clean but what about when the authorities fail to do as the exact same?
The students and parents want the district administration to initiate stern action against the dumping of garbage and to have a proper drainage system for the rainwater.
