Child Died Due to Negligence of Punjab Roadways Driver

A very miserable incident occurred on Kharar-Morinda road, where a 4th class student died and 3 other students were injured, as a Punjab Roadways bus collided with their school bus.

The victim has been identified as, Samarth Sachdeva (10), a student of St Joseph School, Sector 44, Chandigarh. As per reports, his sister, Khwaish Sachdeva (13) and two other students Aayushi Rana (9) and Aarav, were injured in the incident. The students were immediately taken to the civil hospital, where Samarth was declared dead by doctors. Aarav was referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh, as he got some major head injuries.

According to information, Punjab roadways bus was coming from Ludhiana and moving towards Chandigarh. Due to rainfall, the road was very slippery and Balbir Singh, Punjab Roadways bus driver, was unable to control the bus. Moreover, Punjab Roadways bus was fully loaded with passengers.

The case has been registered against Balbir Singh under the relevant Sections of Indian Penal Code.
