A 12th class student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his resident in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, as he was scolded by his teachers in front of his classmates, as Santhosh was not preforming well in his studies.
The deceased is identified as R Santhosh (17) S/O Ravichandran, a coconut vendor. He was studying in Mount Carmel Matriculation School located in Athirampattinam.
According to victim’s family members, on Monday evening, he came home and went to his room at first floor. When he didn’t come down after hours, parents checked his room. They were shocked, as he was hanging in his room.
Santhosh’s family members and relatives are protesting in front of the school and demanding to take strict actions against the teachers. According to police, the case has been registered and the police is continuously investigating the case.
