Communist Party of India-Marxist CPI (M) leader and six others are arrested for kicking a pregnant woman. The woman is identified as Josna Shibi (28).
The incident took place in Kodenchery, Kozhikode district, Kerala. According to victim woman, the dispute was over a compound border. Woman and her family were receiving threats from the other party in dispute. Woman already complained about matter to police and police warned to other party to not create problems.
Mediator Saithalavi came to their house around 9 pm, Josna refused to talk to the mediator. Then he called other people including CPM leader. They allegedly attacked to her husband and child. When she tried to stop them, they stated kicking in her stomach, as she was 4 months pregnant. She immediately called to police, but police denied to come and asked “we don’t have any vehicle”.
Due to this assault and kicking, she forced to get abortion and she lost her baby.
The case has been registered against the culprits. They were arrested by police on Thursday.
