J&K/ Rajouri(The Stellar News),Anil Bhardwaj: : In a bid to promote local culture and tourism in the district, the District Administration Rajouri in collaboration with the Tourism Department has finalized all arrangements to organize a one-day mega Cultural cum tourism promotion festival in the district on 27th March.
Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri convened a meeting with concerned Officers of the Tourism and Culture Department to finalize all the arrangements. Threadbare discussions were held for organizing the mega cultural festival cum tourism promotion programme in the district. Various modalities for organizing the event were chalked out, wherein a mass awareness about the local culture, tourist places, potential tourist sites, heritage sites in the district will be generated. The Deputy Commissioner while speaking during the meeting said that the Rajouri district has a huge potential in the tourism sector and the need of the hour is to generate massive awareness among the enthusiastic tourists to harness the tourism potential to generate more employment avenues in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officers to work in close coordination and ensure that all the arrangements are put in place well in time for the smooth and successful conduct of the mega cultural festival event. Deputy Commissioner further directed the Tourism Department to ensure the participation of local cultural groups and NGOs in the event and renowned artists from outside UT should also be invited for cultural exchange and promotion of tourism potential of the district. “This event would provide a great opportunity for local artists to showcase their talent and promote their rich culture,” the DC said. Among the others, CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Jal Shakti, SR Shukla; GM DIC, Manzoor Hussain; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; DPO, Chander Kant Bhagat; District Culture Officer, Dr ADr Dar; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn I&FC Rajouri, Sageer Malik; AD Tourism, Ambika Bali besides other concerned officers, artists, representatives from NGOs attended the meeting.
