WHY INDIA IS SPENDING LOTS OF MONEY IN ISRO, WHAT INDIA GETS IN RETURN?

Delhi (The Stellar News), Saksham: India is a developing country it means the country which have lots of sectors to development. But Indian government is giving too much attention in space department. This raises a question that, “why India is spending lots of money in this?” India became most leading country in space research of world despite of having the tag of developing country. India is expanding budget of space research every year extensively.

Budget of ISRO in UPA and NDA government-
In previous years when there is a Government of UPA, country was not giving this kind of attention in space sector. This can be proved by this data that Government of UPA had announced Rs 5,615crores in year 2013-2014 to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) but later allotted only Rs4000cr.

On the other side BJP Government, after coming into power allotted Rs6000crore and are increasing budget every year. In 2020-2021 budget announced by government for ISRO was Rs 12,473crores and for 2021-2022 it is Rs 13,479crores.
Why India is focusing on launching satellites-

As this is a time of technology. Everything is depending on technology. Every country is focusing on increasing their defence sector, infrastructure and communication connectivity. This can only be possible by increasing technology and research capability of the country.

So, for the development of these sectors, Government is giving attention to these Research Institutes. The development in research sector means ease in doing work and invention of new technologies.
Country has launched various communication satellites which are helping people for connecting with each other. As this is the era of internet. We are connecting with each other with mobile phones, which can only be possible with the help of communication satellites.

After 2014 India has changed its policy, now India thinks that, “if you want to live peacefully, then that’s important to strengthen your military powers”
So, India had launched various missions like Shakti Mission. The motive is to become a strong contender in space sector of world.

What India getting in return to this Expense –
India has gained a respect in world for launching big satellites in low cost. India became first country to reach mars in its 1st attempt. India also had a world record of launching 101 satellites under 1 mission.
After investing a huge amount of money country now became able to increase its connectivity and defence capacity.
As country is surrounded with some enemy countries, so it’s important to put eyes on their actions. Now, country had appropriate satellites to watch other countries movement in world.
We became capable of checking weather forecast on our phones this became possible due to satellites. We can’t forgot that India was first to find water on moon.

Total number of Satellites launched by ISRO-
ISRO had totally launched 82 missions from 1980 to till now from which 8 were remain unsuccessful. From these 82 missions, 39 missions were launched by BJP government from 2014 to till now.
ISRO also organised 111 Spacecraft Missions and launched 342 foreign satellites with 12 student satellites.

Main missions launched by ISRO are-
Chandrayan2- This is the 1st attempt of India to reach mars and find out some intrusting facts about mars planet.
Indian National satellites (INSAT)- This mission is to launch communication satellites. In this mission about 5 satellites were launched namely INSAT-3A, 3C, 4A, 4B, 4CR and were successfully placed in geo-stationary orbit.
G-SAT Mission- After the launch of INSAT, India announced G-SAT mission and launched about 12 satellites in constellation of INSAT. These satellites were GSAT-6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 18.
These missions had given high boost to Indian research department and were appreciated by various developed countries.
