Chandigarh (The Stellar News): The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 435931 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 20th day of procurement. Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 435931 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 435865 MT of wheat 66MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 93951 metric tonnes, MARKFED 92604 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 100192 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 67373 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 56553 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 25192 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab. Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 10478237 MT.
