Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Today, on Monday CBI took actions against four TMC senior leaders. CBI conducted raids under the 7 year old Narada sting case and arrested four senior leaders of TMC. From these four leaders 2 were Cabinet Ministers of Mamta Banerjee’s Government in West Bengal.
Arrested accused are former Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee, Minister Firhad Hakim, Minister Subarta Mukherjee and MLA Madan Mitra. The Narada sting operation was a sting operation carried out by Mathew Samuel targeting high-ranking officials and politicians of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC). It showed several politicians and a high-ranked police officer accepting cash bribes in exchange for providing unofficial favours to a company.
After the arrest of Four TMC leaders, Mathew Samuel showed happiness and said today a long awaited thing which has happened. He also raised questions that in the sting operation there were evidences against Suvendu Adhikari and Mukul Roy. Both these went to BJP in last elections but CBI doesn’t took any action against them.
When CBI reached various places to arrest TMC leaders, TMC supporters started violence against central forces. When CBI successfully arrested Leaders and reached CBI office then various supporters encircled the CBI office at Kolkata. Many people threw stones and empty bottles on central forces deployed for the security of CBI office. Many roads were blocked and tyres were also burnt by TMC supporters.
CM Mamta Banerjee personally reached CBI office and stayed there for around 6 hours. She also said that, as you arrested my colleagues then also arrest me. Jagdeep dhanker, Governor of West Bengal also condemned the sad situation of Bengal and said that, “He concerned over the alarming situation of Bengal and asked Mamta Banerjee to follow all the norms and rules. He also asked police to take appropriate action for maintaining low and order.”
