Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: The world is becoming so mean that we are fulfilling our public responsibility on social media. 5th June, the day of World Environment Day, which as same others days gained attention on social media, but not on ground level. We are recklessly using our resources and exploiting our environment which is resulting in the destruction of habitats of animals.
This is shameful that despite of having many committees and organizations which work for the preservation of environment nothing seems useful on ground level. World’s forest area is decreasing due to extensive deforestation, glaciers are melting at operational level but no one is doing anything for this.
Plastics management is the biggest concern for India because it is the main reason of deaths of many marine as well as other animals and chocking our sewage systems. Plastic is banned in various areas of the country but is not effectively implemented at ground level yet. We have no solution of decomposing the plastic waste.
Government had banned the use of plastic bags but the production of plastic bags and appliances hasn’t stopped yet. To stop use of plastic that’s important to stop the production of plastic products.On the other hand companies are doing excessive mining for making more profit, which led to the extensive depletion of earth resources like coal, oil and gases. But the accountability has to be meant.
This are not the only concerns for the protection of environment, used batteries, disposable cutlery, food packets, laundry detergents and electronic waste are also going to become a big problem in future, as there is no solution to dispose-off these things.
The environment is warning us with many indicators but we are ignoring this because of our personal profit. If we can’t handle this now then we will face lots of difficulties in future.
