FIRE BURST OUT AT VAISHNO DEVI SHRINE COMPLEX, CASH COUNTING CENTER FULLY DAMAGED

Jammu (The Stellar News) Saksham kalia: On Tuesday evening, cash counting center inside the Vaishno Devi Shrine Board complex caught fire. The cause of fire reported as the short circuit which burnt out the cash counting room.

According to reports, the fire broke out inside a cash counter room in Kalika bhavan on 4:15 pm, which is adjacent to the sanctum sanctorum. The area burnt for around 45 min and fire bought in control at 5:00 pm. No casualties had registered while some people suffered minor injuries.

According to officials the fire led to the extensive damage to the room and some documents and cash also destroyed.  

The Senior Superintendent of Police for Reasi district Shailender singh stated that, “We got a call around 4.30 pm. Initial reports suggest the fire broke out due to electric (short)circuit”.  

“SHO (Station House Officer) Reasi rescued people who trapped inside the fire. Some suffered minor injuries and are getting medical attention,” he added. SSP Singh said the CEO of the Vaishno Devi Shrine board had reached the spot and was assessing damages. “We will know what caused the fire after further investigation,” he said. 

Acc. to PTI news agency the first alarm was sounded by CRPF security personnel posted there. On this union minister of State S Charandeep Singh spoke to DC Resai and reviewed the situation of Vaishno Devi Complex.

“Spoke to DC Reasi, S Charandeep Singh, just now and inquired about the fire that broke out near the Vaishno Devi shrine some time back. Thankfully, everything brought under control. No major loss reported. However, keeping a close track for the next few hours,” he tweeted.
