Punjab (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Punjab Police taking action against the SAD party president along with his party workers and BSP leaders detained the main Party leaders. SAD and BSP leaders has organized a protest outside the CM Punjab residence in saswan.
The Akali Dal members under the leadership of Sukhbir Badal were protesting to demand the removal of health minister Balbir Singh Sidhu and a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged irregularities in the sale of vaccines and procurement of medical kits for COVID-19 patients.
“If a storm rises, Captain won’t be able to stop it, even if he uses all his force. There is a scam in vaccination, there is a scam in Fateh Kit, there is a scam in schedule castes’ scholarship, farmers’ land is being acquired,” Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal said before getting detained.
As the protest was pre-planned so Punjab police had barricaded outside the CM residence. After addressing the party supporters, main leaders headed towards the barricades and tried to break them.In this ruckus, both Parties supporters and police also indulged into conflict. So, to control the situation outside the CM residence Punjab Police used Water Cannons on SAD and BSP supporters.
This came a day after the protest was organized by AAP outside the CM official residence which was led by MLA and leader of opposition Harpal Singh Cheema over alleged misappropriation of post-matric scholarship funds.
