ORANGE VENDOR BUILT SCHOOL, STORY OF PADMA SHRI AWARDEE HAREKALA HAJABBA

Delhi (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Harekala Hajabba an orange vendor who received India’s fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri from President for his brilliant work for the society. The story of Harekala Hajabba is very inspirational as he did an extra ordinary work by building a school from the earning of Rs150 per day.

His motive of building a school took birth when one day a foreigner asked him about the price of Orange in English and he remained unsuccessful to understand. So, he decided that he will do something for other children so that they will not suffer from this situation. In 2000, he decided to build school and spent all his savings and investments he built school for children.

“I had never had the opportunity to access education, and I did not want the children in the village to suffer the same fate,” Hajabba quoted

“Today, the school has 175 students with classes up to the 10th standard,” Harekala Hajabba told news agency.

It was announced in January 2020 that Harekala Hajabba would receive the Padma Shri award. However, the ceremony could not be held earlier due to the pandemic.
