J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News), Anil Bhardwaj: ARMY unit under the aegis of Tithwal Brigade distributed sewing machines to the women of village Kotli & Thandikassi, Rajouri on 12 Mar 2022 to empower women of remote areas of the state. Besides fighting terrorism and insurgency in J&K, army has taken up various steps for the upliftment of women in the society by providing them avenues of employment. In a series of its initiatives for women empowerment eight sewing machines were distributed to women of village Kotli & Thandikassi. This initiative will open the avenues of employment, promotion of micro entrepreneurship and source of inspiration to other ladies of the region to become part in national growth. This act by the Indian Army was praised by the villagers as a noble gesture and shall further strengthen the bond between army and the locals.
