Punjab (The Stellar News) Saksham Kalia: Aam Aadmi Party chief Ministerial candidate for Punjab Bhagwant Mann took oath as Punjab Chief Minister in the native village of Bhagat Singh, Khatkar Kalan. Bhagwant Mann has called the whole Punjab people to join in his coronation ceremony to encourage him.
Mann also urged supporters to wear “Basanti Pagdis and Duppatas” in ceremony. Huge arrangements were done for the ceremony, 10,000 police personnel was deployed and special phone calls were made to Punjab people urging them to join the ceremony.
Special video messages of Bhagwant Mann were broadcasted on social media handles, TV Channels calling people to join coronation ceremony.
Aam Aadmi Party in a bid of oath ceremony of Bhagwant Mann tried to do Shakti Pradarshan in Khatkar Kalan. Aam Aadmi Party being a regional Political Party, is trying to upgrade its status to national party. For that, such strategies are being adapted to show the political presence of party and standout a strong side against the main parties Congress and BJP.
About Rs2 crore was spent on the arrangements of coronation ceremony, Bhagwant Mann created his image as biggest fan and follower of Bhagat singh but shocking the power bills of memorial park adjoining the martyr’s ancestral house at Khatkar kalan is unpaid for last 2 years. Power bills amounting Rs 1.7 lakh of memorial park haven’t been paid for the past over two years.
Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal had sought votes in Punjab with the slogan of change, but we have to understand that AAP is a political organisation, they have to think about political benefits and loses. If party really thinks about the place of spending tax payers money, they could have organised this ceremony on small scale but everyone knows what happens in Khatkar Kalan.
AAP has tried to feature them as the only option which is better than BJP, Congress and other parties. This is a futuristic thinking of AAP leadership to win other states where elections will be conducted next year. People of Punjab are waiting for the change in system as they had already given mandate to change the political leadership in Punjab.
