Police rescue 17 animals in Rajouri, foils three bids

J&K/Rajouri (The Stellar News): Foiling three bids of bovine smuggling in Kalakote, Rajouri and Thanamandi areas in the district, police in Rajouri have rescued eleven animals from the clutches of smugglers.

In an official statement, police said that in the wee morning hours on Friday, an information was received that some unknown person are taking bovines on foot from mountainous area of Potha panchayat.

On this, police party from Potha naka under the supervision of SHO Kalakote Deepak Pathania was immediately rushed towards the spot and cops rescued four bovines. The smugglers however managed to escape from the spot before arrival of cops taking advantage of darkness and their manhunt is going on.

In another incident, police team of Rajouri police station under the supervision of SHO Fareed Ahmed signalled a Tata Mobile JK11E 8976 to stop which was on way to Rajouri.

The driver of vehicle however escaped from the spot leaving behind vehicle from which seven animals were found loaded that have been rescued whereas the vehicle involved in the smuggling has been seized.

Similarly, Thanamandi police station team headed by SHO Shoket Amin during naka checking at Thanamandi intercepted a mini truck JK14C-1618 which on way towards Bufliyaz and was loaded with six bovine animals.

In this connection a case FIR 57/2022 U/Ss 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has beeb registered and driver namely Arsalan
Mustafa son of Abdul Qayoom resident of Ujhan Darhal has been arrested.
